Our Services
-
Adjustment to organic brain injuries, such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), can be arduous for sufferers and their families. We provide evidence-based intervention for individuals who have sustained brain injuries, assisting them to develop an understanding of the changes to their cognition and emotions, reduce their distress, and resume their normal activities faster. We provide critical support for families to help them to understand the nature of brain injury, and how they can best support their loved one through their recovery.

We can provide assessment and treatment for a range of psychological conditions. We help people to make sense of their diagnosed disability, make positive changes and find new direction. Psychology services are provided free of charge to participants receiving care under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

We provide tailored support to help people understand the impact of neurological injuries, and develop ways of coping. We can provide strategies to reduce an injured person's symptoms and increase their independence.

Insight Neuropsychology provides support and supervision to cater to suit a range of requirements. We provide ongoing Psy-BA approved clinical supervision for psychologists in all stages of training, including the 4 + 2 and 5 + 1 programs, masters students and neuropsychology registrars. We can also provide ad-hoc supervision as required for practitioners looking to expand their skill set. Supervisees benefit from support and direction related both to their clinical work and challenges commonly arising in the workplace while under supervision.

We have expertise in providing evidence-based clinical assessment of neurological injuries and timely, relevant documentation. Our reports are useful for quantifying changes to cognition, disentangling organic and psychiatric factors, and helping patients and referrers understand supports patients may require to live safely and independently. Neuropsychology assessments are provided in-person at our Brisbane clinic, and can be requested for patients by insurers (e.g., NIISQ, iCare), WorkCover, and the NDIS. Travel to remote areas for assessment is possible.

Assessment and reporting for legal purposes often relates to personal injury, decision-making capacity, total and permanent disability (TPD), and fitness for duty. These assessments, and the broader legal process, can be stressful for those involved. We are expert providers of compassionate, independent neuropsychology services for court purposes, supplying jargon-free, concise reports that are understandable for all involved. These assessments are completed in-person at our Brisbane clinic.
